Floating plants
The floating photovoltaic system is a system installed on water, featuring traditional panels that will take advantage of specific technologies that will allow it to float and produce energy efficiently.
These systems are intended to preserve the earth’s land, without the need to build infrastructure that will then make it easier to restore the pre-existing environmental state when decommissioned.
Ei Systems Energy, strengthened by collaborations with the best partners in the industry, is already developing several projects in this regard.
In Italy, the sector of floating systems is still being developed but, considering the incentives increasingly targeted toward this sector, rather interesting future scenarios are expected to be the advantages of this solution are manifold.
- The system does not occupy land but exploits unused areas of artificial or natural reservoirs and has a very limited environmental impact
- The presence of water allows the implementation of a cooling system by reducing the temperature of the photovoltaic panel and, consequently, losses due to thermal drift
- At the same time, it increases the life cycle of the panel
